History of the Estate

1742

The history of our estate begins in 1742, with the arrival of Jean-François Baud, who settled as a sharecropper in Vernois.

1789

The family home then housed all subsequent generations, already recorded in the municipal archives before the French revolution of 1789, who lived at the time of polyculture.

1950

In 1950, René BAUD, 7th generation, rebuilt the vineyard which had suffered greatly from phylloxera and the two world wars. He cultivated 4 hectares of vines.

1978

In 1978, with the arrival of the 8th generation, the Domaine took on a new dimension: Jean-Michel and Alain formed the Gaec Baud Père & Fils. Their tireless and dedicated work has allowed them to gradually expand from 4 to 20 hectares, with 38 harvests to their credit. Jean-Michel is in charge of vineyard management, while Alain handles the winemaking and sales.

2016

On January 1, 2016, Bastien and Clémentine, at just 22 and 24 years old respectively, took over the reins of the 9th generation. Bastien manages the vineyard and winemaking, while Clémentine handles sales and administration. Since they took over, the Domaine has already expanded by an additional 5 hectares.
